Where rivers run North. From the headwater lakes at the height of land, long rivers make their way through the endless boreal forest to the Arctic Sea. Fast flowing rivers like the Spanish or Mississagi flow south to the Great Lakes. This is the top of the Canadian Shield. Ancient native pictographs, the northern lights, black bear, moose, walleye, the land of Ojibway and Cree, of the Hudson Bay and Northwest Company fur trade posts.
