Offered: July
Length: 7 day s - 6 night s
Skill Level: Beginner - Intermediate
Region: Great Lakes Coast / Georgian Bay (locate outfitter)
Park: Great Lakes Heritage Coast

Package Description:
A true paddler's paradise. The challenge will be finding enough hours in the day to thoroughly explore this amazing cluster of islands. Our journey to the Bustards will take us past the Cunningham Islands, Churchills, and Champlain. We might stop and camp on any one of these.

There's lots to see on the Bustards so we will most likely spend a couple days base camping. Out there, you feel like you’re on an ocean – yet the paddling is protected and offers much to explore. We will try to camp early each day so that you can enjoy lots of time for relaxing and swimming. (It’s the best freshwater swimming in the world!) For those who want to work on paddling or rescue skills, the guides will be happy to go paddling with you once camp is set up.

The last day we'll paddle back to Britt having a final lunch enroute, arriving back at White Squall in the late afternoon; tired, happy, and ready for a good night’s sleep!

As with all trips, we’re at the mercy of the weather and mother nature, so don’t be surprised if all of this changes. You need to have mastered basic paddling & rescue skills and have previous camping

What will it be like ?

  • Meals are mostly vegetarian, quite varied and ample, using fresh and whole foods.
  • We travel most days, with some longer days in the boat (up to 7 hours) but not every day. We take breaks every 1-2 hours for snacks and lunch. Some days may be longer and prepare to be setting up camp in the evening.
  • We provide daily snacks to keep you happy.
  • We bring a library that includes recreational reading, field guides and historic accounts.
  • Safety and rescue gear (including a marine radio and a cell phone for emergency communication) accompanies each trip, and our leaders are properly trained in its use.
  • We expect everyone to help out and be involved in the group activities and chores while on trip.
