Package Description:
Bike along the Grand River on the Trans Canada Rail Trail, enjoy a riverside patio lunch in Paris then exchange your bike for a boat and paddle back! It's a great adventure for the whole family or a group of your friends!

Park your vehicle at the Brant Conservation Area, as this is where your trip will begin. We supply the trail bikes & helmets. You'll first cycle 12 kilometres of the Rail Trail to the picturesque town of Paris, on the Grand River. If desired, your guide can detour to a mountain bike trail instead of the Rail Trail.

While in Paris, have an excellent soup & sandwich lunch, followed by dessert and drink. Relax and enjoy your meal on an outdoor deck overlooking the Grand River.

After lunch, receive a river map and launch your boat for an enjoyable 3-hour paddle on the Cayuga Run. This guided run is the historical route of the valley. It starts at our store-front dock on the Grand River. The first leg of your paddling trip drifts into the famous artist snapshot of Paris. You will then visit the largest black walnut tree in Canada, see natural conglomerate rock, drink from cool water springs, run the splashing "bloop", visit a mine from the 1830's and hike to the Lookout on the Black Walnut Trail. You'll hear about the history of the forgotten Neutral Tribe, paddle past the largest blue-heron rookery, visit the coldest creek in Southern Ontario, picnic on Sarah's Island, float down Big "V" in your life jacket, see the remains of an 1800's corduroy road, paddle the quiet stillness, view a red-tail hawk nest and the home of a bank beaver before paddling to your final destination - our riverside campsites at the Brant Conservation Area (6-hour hike/paddle).

Starting times are 9 a.m or 11 a.m at Brant Conservation Area.

Trip includes touring bike, helmet, water, patio lunch, canoe, paddle & PFD, bailer kit and guide.
