Description:
The PaddleFoot Explorers program is an extended wilderness canoe expedition and adventure on one of Canada's spectacular remote rivers.
The Explorers package is for youth ages 16-18. Explorers have the option of several rivers: The Rupert, Missinaibi, Moisie, Harricana and the Winisk, to name a few. Wildlife viewings of moose and otter are a familiar and friendly sight and whispering northern lights dance throughout the night sky. Hudson Bay Company outposts, thousand year old campsites and ancient pictographs are among the many sights adventurers will see.
Each summmer a different route is chosen. These rivers all have one thing in common - a long drive to the remote drop-off and then a spectacular journey through one of Canada's least travelled waterways. The length of the trip allows the participant to become competent whitewater paddlers and experienced campers. This is also a great opportunity to learn and/or develop less tangible skills such as decision-making, goal-setting and leadership, as the group must problem-solve and meet the challenges of living and playing together 24/7.
